RECLAIM participated at the 32.BIMU Fair

Elena Mocchio and Adriano Ferrara from UNI represented the RECLAIM project at the 32. BIMU Fair in Milan – the most important Italian event dedicated to digital manufacturing, automation, enabling technologies and subcontracting industries.

One of the goals of RECLAIM at this fair was to increase the awareness about the importance of standardisation in the predictive maintenance sector and specific standards that exist in the area of remanufacturing of technical equipment. The RECLAIM standardisation toolkit that had been launched several days prior to the event was presented there.

Within the BIMU Arena, Elena Mocchio gave a general overview of UNI’s activities related to the European projects as well as the role of standardisation within RECLAIM, which was then discussed in depth by Mr. Santini, the President of CEN TC “Maintenance”. Mr. Santini explained the importance of standardisation activities and in particular how these activities can be linked to the RECLAIM project. In his interview, he highlighted the holistic approach of the RECLAIM project and the importance of circular economy approach.

The results of the project will innovate standardisation activities in the field of circular economy, remanufacturing and predictive maintenance by anticipating market needs.

Last but not least, technical standardisation, which is an integral part of RECLAIM, will contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goals identified in the UN Agenda 2030.
